STUDENT COUNCIL
Exercising the Right to Vote
It is election season in Tortola and the secondary students at Cedar International School are exercising their right to vote by electing a new Executive Board for our Student Council this month.
In preparation for this event, we had Mr. Gerrard Farara, QC speak with our students about self development through leadership, character building, and community service. Attorney Farara dazzled the crowd with a compelling lecture about the importance of these elements in order to achieve self development and to serve their school community here at Cedar International School.
Prior to delivering electoral speeches, candidates will receive an orientation about themes and goals for the year, along with a workshop on speech preparation and public speaking. Our goal as a faculty is to empower students to use their talents and abilities while enhancing their school community in the process.
We are very excited about this year’s Student Government elections and we look forward to a fantastic year!
